Yoga
Leia Smith began practicing yoga at age six with her grandmother, a local yogi. By age sixteen, she started teaching yoga classes as a certified instructor. Now, many years later, yoga has become a daily practice and way of life. She enjoys volunteering her time to teach yoga-based self-regulation classes to youth, crafting specialized courses for those in need, and teaching beginners the joy that a few sessions of yoga can bring. Outside of teaching yoga, Leia owns a marketing company and is the development coordinator at the Children’s Advocacy Alliance in Conway, Arkansas. She is an alumnus of UCA and in her spare time is working on her graduate degree. If you have an interest in yoga or have any questions, send her an email at leiasmithar@gmail.com or join her class on Monday and Wednesday nights at ConwayToe2Toe.
“Yoga helps me battle my daily struggles in a way that not only benefits me but the people around me. I don’t know where I would be today without yoga. It’s a powerful tool that can enhance anyone’s quality of life.” — Leia
